In a troubling incident aboard the Cantus train number 24224 traveling from Fulda to Kassel, a 28-year-old man has been accused of physically assaulting a visually impaired passenger. The event took place on June 24, 2025, at approximately 1:15 PM, when the assailant, a Guinean national, mistakenly believed that the 38-year-old German man was using a mobile device designed for blind users to film him.

According to reports, the assailant struck the victim multiple times in the face, resulting in visible bruising and a reddened area around the victim's right eye. This unprovoked attack prompted immediate intervention by local law enforcement at the Heinebach train station.

Upon their arrival, police officers conducted interviews with both the attacker and the victim. An examination of the mobile device in question revealed no evidence of any photographs or videos of the assailant, indicating that the accusation was unfounded. Following the initial investigation, the intoxicated perpetrator was taken to a police station but was subsequently released after the necessary procedures were completed.

The Kassel Federal Police Department has initiated a criminal investigation for bodily harm related to this incident. Authorities are actively seeking witnesses who may have observed the altercation, urging them to come forward by contacting the police at 0561 81616 0 or visiting the official website at www.bundespolizei.de.
