Thu 24th Jul, 2025

Microsoft has expanded its Surface Laptop 7 lineup by introducing a 5G-capable version, enhancing the device's portability with mobile internet capability. This new model features Intel's Lunar Lake processors, allowing users to stay connected on the go.

The base model of the Surface Laptop 7 with the Core Ultra 5 236V processor, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a 256GB SSD is priced at EUR2,099. For those interested in mobile connectivity, there is an additional charge of EUR250 for the 5G module, bringing the total to EUR2,349.

Consumers looking for increased memory can opt for a version with 32GB of RAM, which costs an extra EUR350, resulting in a total price of EUR2,459. The architecture of Intel's Core Ultra 200V, also known as Lunar Lake, means that the memory is soldered directly onto the processor, making upgrades during purchase essential.

Aside from the memory options, the 5G version shares its specifications with the baseline model of the Surface Laptop 7. For users requiring more computational power, there is a variant featuring the Core Ultra 7 266V processor, which operates at a maximum clock speed of 5.0 GHz and includes 12MB of Level 3 cache. However, this model also comes with 16GB of RAM and is limited to a 256GB SSD, with no larger SSD options available.

The Surface Laptop 7 is primarily marketed as a business notebook, although it is available for purchase by individual consumers through Microsoft's online store. Customers can expect shipments for the 5G models to start on September 2, 2025, with deliveries expected to reach consumers by September 3.

Currently, Microsoft does not offer a 5G option for the larger 15-inch variant of the Surface Laptop, which is only available with Wi-Fi or through USB Ethernet adapters. Those interested in 5G laptops from other manufacturers are encouraged to explore various models and compare prices.
