Hertha BSC and Fredi Bobic Fail to Reach Settlement in Legal Dispute

Tue 17th Jun, 2025

The ongoing legal conflict between Hertha BSC and former managing director Fredi Bobic remains unresolved, as both parties could not come to terms on a financial settlement. According to the Landgericht Berlin, the court confirmed that the matter, referenced as case 90 O 29/23, has not concluded through a mutual agreement.

Reports indicate that a court date has been scheduled for July 3, where a ruling may be announced. Bobic has been contesting his dismissal from the club, which took place in early 2023. He is seeking to recover unpaid salary, a severance package as stipulated in his contract, and interest, totaling more than four million euros.

In a prior court session held in late May, both parties appeared to be moving toward a potential settlement of 3.2 million euros. However, Hertha requested a three-week period to consider the offer, which led to further delays in the proceedings.

Additionally, the club has emphasized the need for confidentiality in the ongoing discussions, refraining from public commentary on the case at this stage. Bobic's legal actions have been characterized by multiple challenges and procedural delays, including numerous requests for recusal from the club.

As the situation progresses, attention will be focused on the upcoming court date, which could provide clarity in a dispute that has persisted for two years. Stakeholders and fans alike await the outcome, given the implications it might have for both the club's finances and Bobic's future endeavors.
