Kyiv has once again faced severe attacks as Russian forces launched nighttime airstrikes involving drones and missiles, resulting in tragic loss of life and numerous injuries. The latest reports confirm that six individuals have died, including a six-year-old boy and his mother, as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced. The number of injured is reported to be in the dozens, with damage sustained to residential infrastructure.

Zelenskyy shared a video depicting extensive destruction and the mobilization of emergency services in the aftermath of the strikes. Kyiv's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, noted that nine minors were among the injured, marking the highest count of injured children in a single night since the onset of the conflict.

The Ukrainian capital was reportedly the primary target of the Russian assault, which also affected surrounding areas, including regions such as Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Sumy, and Mykolaiv. According to official sources, over 300 drones and eight missiles were launched by Moscow.

In a statement, Zelenskyy remarked that the recent attacks showcased Russia's response to the global desire for peace, shared by Ukraine, the United States, and Europe. In a counter-response, Ukraine targeted a site within Russian territory. Reports from the governor of the Pensa region, Oleg Melnitschenko, indicated that Ukrainian drones ignited a fire at an industrial facility; however, no injuries or significant damage were reported.

Local media highlighted the presence of an electronics company in Pensa, which allegedly manufactures computer technology for the Russian defense ministry, alongside a military production facility.

In the Volgograd region, Russian railway services experienced delays of up to six hours due to debris from downed drones. Additionally, temporary disruptions occurred at the airports in Volgograd and Saratov, as reported by the Russian aviation authority, Rosaviatsiya. Frequent drone attacks from Ukraine have led to repeated limitations at various airports across Russia.

Ukraine has been defending itself against a Russian invasion for over three years and continues to launch counterstrikes against strategic targets in Russia as part of its defense strategy.
