Ulm - In a shocking incident, a visually impaired man became the victim of a blatant theft while traveling on the Schiller Bridge. The event occurred shortly before 1 AM when the man, equipped with a white cane, was heading from the train station square towards Schillerstraße. Simultaneously, an unidentified individual accompanied by two companions was seen walking in the same direction.

Without warning, the suspect forcibly snatched the man's black shoulder bag from his grasp. A witness reported that despite the victim's attempt to defend himself with his cane, he was unable to prevent the theft. The assailant quickly fled back towards the train station square, leaving the victim in shock.

A 17-year-old bystander stepped in to assist the distressed individual, who insisted that he did not require help and downplayed the significance of the stolen bag. Nevertheless, the young witness felt compelled to report the incident to law enforcement.

Currently, neither the blind man nor the thief have been identified by authorities. The Ulm-Mitte police department is actively investigating the theft and is encouraging the victim to come forward by contacting them at 0731/188-3312. Shortly after the incident, around 2 AM, officers from the federal police recovered the empty bag on the train station square.
