US Defense Secretary Vows Retaliation After Deadly IS Attack in Syria

Following a fatal assault in Syria that claimed the lives of two American soldiers and a civilian interpreter, the United States Department of Defense has announced that the individual responsible for the attack has been neutralized by allied forces. The incident occurred in the Palmyra region, where US military personnel have been stationed as part of ongoing efforts to combat the Islamic State (IS) and support local stability operations.
