Two Men Shot Dead in Bad Nauheim: Suspect Still at Large

Bad Nauheim, Hesse - A significant police operation has been initiated following a shooting incident in Bad Nauheim, resulting in the deaths of two men. The tragic event occurred on Saturday evening in the 33,000-inhabitant town, where both victims were reportedly shot.

According to police reports, the shooting happened around 5:40 PM on Am Deutergraben street. Emergency services received the first calls reporting gunfire shortly after 6 PM. The two deceased men were discovered with gunshot wounds in front of a residential building, as confirmed by authorities late at night.

The crime scene has been cordoned off by law enforcement, which has established a secure perimeter around a three-story building situated in a neighborhood comprised of several multi-family residences. A police helicopter has been deployed to survey the area from above, while officers have set up professional visual barriers to maintain privacy during the ongoing investigation.

Authorities have warned residents in Bad Nauheim through radio announcements, emphasizing the possibility of an armed suspect still being on the loose. Although police have not ruled out the involvement of additional individuals in the incident, they currently lack specific leads regarding the identity of the shooter.

A police spokesperson indicated that investigations are ongoing, but it is too early to determine what new information might emerge later in the evening. While the immediate threat to local residents has been assessed as minimal, individuals are advised against picking up hitchhikers as a precaution.

Emergency responders, including paramedics and doctors, were on the scene to assist as needed. Heavily armed police units have secured the vicinity of the Usa-Wellenbad, a local swimming facility named after the nearby Usa River. Special forces are actively participating in the search for the suspect.
