Trump Expresses Optimism on Ukrainian Peace Talks with Starmer

In a significant diplomatic engagement, former US President Donald Trump met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the White House, where he conveyed a hopeful outlook regarding the prospect of a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. This meeting took place just a day before Trump's anticipated discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Trump articulated his belief that a resolution to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine is achievable and expressed confidence that such an agreement would be lasting. He acknowledged his long-standing familiarity with Russian President Vladimir Putin, asserting that he trusts Putin to uphold any commitments made during negotiations.

When asked by reporters if he believed there was a likelihood of another Russian offensive against Ukraine, Trump responded negatively, suggesting that he does not foresee any further aggression from Moscow.

During the meeting, Trump reiterated his skepticism regarding Ukraine's potential NATO membership, stating, "It will not happen."
