A 14-year-old boy in Speyer sparked considerable concern on Saturday evening when he ascended a construction crane approximately 30 meters tall to take selfies.
Witnesses reported the alarming situation to the police, who promptly located the teenager perched on the crane's arm on Am Rabensteinerweg. Upon noticing the officers' presence, the youth quickly descended from the structure.
It appears that the boy was unaware of the potential dangers associated with his actions. Consequently, law enforcement initiated a criminal investigation for trespassing. Following the incident, the police returned the teenager to his parents.
This incident highlights the ongoing issue of young individuals engaging in risky behavior for social media exposure, raising questions about safety and parental supervision.
