The week ahead is set to usher in a wave of spring-like conditions across many regions of Germany, with rising temperatures and frequent sunshine. Meteorological forecasts indicate a tranquil start to the week, particularly on Rosenmontag, which will see celebrations enjoy sunny spells.
According to the German Weather Service (DWD), the week will commence with milder weather, following a chilly start characterized by frost and local fog. Many areas can expect clear skies and sunshine, although the northern and northeastern regions will experience more cloud cover.
On Monday, temperatures in the southwestern parts of the country may reach up to 13 degrees Celsius, while other regions will see peak values around 10 degrees. However, early risers should still dress warmly, as winter clothing will be necessary during the morning hours, with light to moderate frost persisting in some mid-mountain areas.
As the week progresses, sunshine is expected to dominate following morning fog on Tuesday, with maximum temperatures ranging between 9 and 14 degrees, and coastal and mountainous areas seeing highs around 7 degrees. The DWD has highlighted that this tranquil pre-spring weather will continue into the middle of the week.
While the northern and northeastern regions may miss out on the full benefits of sunshine, the strong March sun is predicted to boost temperatures further. The DWD anticipates highs reaching up to 15 degrees in the latter part of the week, with only light frost occurring overnight in many mid-mountain regions.
By the weekend, the pleasant weather is expected to continue. Winds will shift to southerly directions, which will contribute to an increase in daytime temperatures. In certain lowland areas of the west and southwest, temperatures could exceed 15 degrees, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities.
