Serious Accident in Hessen: Audi Trapped Between Truck and Concrete Barrier

Fulda, Hessen - A severe accident occurred on Wednesday evening on the A7 highway, involving an Audi that became wedged between a truck and a concrete barrier. The driver of the Audi, a 43-year-old man, lost control of his vehicle while attempting to overtake a truck between the Fulda and Hünfeld interchanges.

The SUV spun out of control and collided with the left side of the truck, resulting in catastrophic damage to the Audi. The exact cause of the accident remains unclear, but it appears that the truck driver instinctively swerved left, inadvertently trapping the Audi between the heavy vehicle and the concrete guardrail.

Emergency services were promptly alerted by witnesses who called for help. Multiple rescue teams from the emergency medical service, fire department, and police responded to the scene on the highway. The Audi driver was trapped inside his vehicle and unable to exit on his own due to the severity of the crash.

Firefighters worked diligently to extricate the man from the wreckage of his completely destroyed SUV. Once freed, he received medical attention at the accident site before being transported to a hospital for further treatment of his serious injuries.

The recovery operation necessitated the closure of the highway heading north for approximately four hours. Traffic was diverted onto the emergency lane during this time. Authorities estimate the financial damage from the accident to be around EUR100,000.
