School summer holidays to begin mid-week

Munich (dpa) - The summer school holidays in Bayern this year, and in the next couple of years, will now begin in the middle of the week. This was announced on Friday by the Bavarian Ministry of Education. The 2012 summer holidays will begin on Wednesday, 10th of August and end on Wednesday, the 12th of September.

In 2013 the holidays begin on 31st July, a Wednesday, until Wednesday the 11th of September. The 2014 summer holidays begin on a Wednesday as well, the 30th of July until Monday, the 15th of September. In the summer of 2015, however, the normal schedule is expected back with the holidays beginning on a Friday afternoon, the 1st of August. The pupils will be expected back to school on Tuesday morning, the 14th of September 2015.
