Gipsy Kings: "Music Is a Natural Way of Life"

The coastal town of Pobierowo in Poland is preparing to welcome guests at what is set to become the largest hotel on the Baltic Sea. Located about 50 kilometers from the German border, this new development is drawing significant attention from both the hospitality industry and potential visitors. The hotel's opening on Wednesday marks the culmination of eight years of construction, resulting in a striking 13-story structure that rises prominently above the coastline.
Massive Scale and High DemandAlthough only approximately 500 out of 1,240 planned rooms are ready for guests at launch, bookings have surged. The opening phase has already seen over 2,000 reservations within the first day, according to the hotel's marketing team. The facility, operated by the Golebiewski hotel chain, is expected to receive hundreds of guests for its initial stays. While the hotel will continue to add more rooms as construction progresses, there is still availability for the summer season, providing opportunities for last-minute bookings.
Hotel Design and Guest ExperienceThe expansive hotel covers an area of 180,000 square meters and features a boomerang-shaped design rather than the ship-like form some had anticipated. The main entrance is positioned on the landward side, and the hotel's architecture is intended to offer functional luxury. Most rooms measure around 50 square meters, with 80% featuring balconies. While not all accommodations provide sea views, the rooms are furnished with high-quality wood finishes. The most exclusive suites can command prices approaching 900 euros per night, though special rates are available until the end of August.
Recreational Facilities and AmenitiesGuests have access to a variety of leisure amenities. The hotel is situated just 150 meters from the Baltic Sea, with a long wooden staircase leading down to the beach. Under Polish law, beach access is not limited to hotel guests, allowing the broader public to enjoy the shoreline. The property is bordered by a pine forest that features cycling paths and natural scenery.
A standout feature is the outdoor pool complex, which boasts a total length of 104 meters and a width of 60 meters, surpassing the size of a standard Olympic swimming pool. The hotel also offers the "Tropikana" water park, which includes indoor pools, whirlpools, children's play areas, saunas, water slides, and a salt grotto.
Dining and Culinary OfferingsThe hotel provides an array of dining options, from casual cafés and bars to large buffet restaurants and à la carte establishments. One of the highlights is an Asian-themed restaurant, which has generated discussion on social media regarding its menu and specialty dishes. In addition, guests can experience traditional Polish cuisine, including specialties such as filled dumplings (Pierogi), across four themed restaurants.
Conference and Event CapabilitiesIn addition to vacationers from Poland, Germany, and the Czech Republic, the hotel aims to attract business travelers and conference organizers. Planned amenities to support this goal include multiple meeting rooms, as well as recreational infrastructure such as climbing walls, a bowling alley, a cinema, a supermarket, a disco, volleyball courts, and organized children's activities. The lobby is designed to host live piano performances, adding to the ambiance.
Project BackgroundThe Golebiewski hotel chain, now comprising six properties, was founded by Tadeusz Golebiewski, a notable entrepreneur who began his career in the confectionery industry. He established the Tago biscuit factory in 1972 before expanding into the hospitality sector. The new Pobierowo hotel was considered his flagship project and personal ambition, though he passed away before its completion. The hotel is viewed as a significant addition to both the regional tourism sector and the Golebiewski portfolio.
