Major Manufacturers Showcase iPhone 17 Cases at IFA

Mon 8th Sep, 2025

The Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) in Berlin, which concludes this week, has seen a variety of accessory producers unveiling their offerings for the anticipated iPhone 17 lineup. Despite Apple's efforts to maintain secrecy around its upcoming devices, many accessory brands have boldly promoted cases and accessories for the new smartphones, displaying confidence about the designs that will be revealed during Apple's keynote event on September 9.

Walking through the exhibition halls, visitors can find well-known brands such as Nomad, Decoded, and ESR presenting cases specifically designed for the iPhone 17, 17 Air, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max. These companies have displayed mockups that align closely with expected designs, a trend typically associated with smaller manufacturers. Notably, major accessory brands like Dbrand have also been proactive, sending out newsletters regarding their iPhone 17 products and even offering pre-orders with expected delivery in September.

The confidence among these manufacturers stems from their established connections within Apple's supply chain, which often provide early insights into upcoming device designs. Despite Apple's attempts to curb leaks--sometimes reportedly involving financial incentives--information frequently surfaces well before official announcements. This pattern has become a recurring theme, as case manufacturers often appear to have the inside track on Apple's product designs.

While there is always a possibility that these manufacturers may be mistaken about the new models, the industry seems to be largely in agreement about the specifications and designs of the iPhone 17 series. With the introduction of a new form factor for the iPhone 17 Air, one might expect Apple to be more stringent in controlling leaks this year. However, the consistent presentation of slim and tailored cases suggests that these accessory makers are operating on solid information.

Given the pre-production timelines required for accessory manufacturers to ensure timely product launches alongside new iPhones, it seems likely that their predictions are accurate. Nevertheless, the true confirmation will only come following the much-anticipated keynote presentation.
