Ducati has introduced its latest iteration of the XDiavel, now equipped with a robust V4 Grantourismo engine that promises exhilarating acceleration from a standstill. This new model, referred to as a Muscle Bike, embodies a blend of power and design that appeals to motorcycle enthusiasts.
The new XDiavel V4 has undergone significant design changes compared to its predecessor, the Diavel V2. Notably, it features a more elongated profile, achieved through modifications to the fuel tank shape and a lower seat height. The motorcycle retains a 20-liter fuel tank while presenting a sleeker appearance due to the absence of bulky air intakes that were prominent in earlier models. The redesigned LED headlight and compact rear with a large LED taillight further contribute to its aesthetic appeal.
In addition to its striking visuals, the XDiavel V4 boasts an updated chassis geometry. The wheelbase has increased from 1593mm to 1620mm, and the angle of the upside-down fork has been lowered to 61 degrees, enhancing its stability. This model is equipped with a fully adjustable 50mm front fork and a rear shock, promising a comfortable ride with impressive handling characteristics.
The heart of the XDiavel V4 is its 1158cc V4 engine, delivering 168 horsepower at 10,750 RPM and 124 Nm of torque. Its performance is characterized by smooth power delivery, making it suitable for various riding conditions. The engine features a counter-rotating crankshaft, a technology borrowed from Ducati's MotoGP experience, designed to improve agility during cornering.
Weighing in at 229kg, the XDiavel maintains a solid balance of power and weight. The motorcycle is fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tires--120/70-17 in the front and a significant 240/45-17 in the rear--ensuring excellent traction and stability during acceleration.
Braking is provided by Brembo components, with a dual radial caliper setup at the front and a two-piston caliper at the rear, ensuring quick stops and enhanced safety features such as cornering ABS.
One of the standout features is the 6.9-inch TFT display, which provides the rider with comprehensive information and is designed to be easily readable in various lighting conditions. The XDiavel V4 includes multiple riding modes--Sport, Touring, Urban, and Wet--as well as three power modes, allowing for a customizable riding experience.
In terms of accessories, Ducati offers a range of options for the XDiavel, from racing exhaust systems to carbon fiber components, allowing owners to tailor their motorcycles to their preferences. The base price for the XDiavel starts at EUR28,990, making it a compelling choice for riders looking for a blend of style and performance.
With its combination of innovative design, powerful engine, and advanced features, the Ducati XDiavel V4 is poised to make a significant impact in the motorcycle market, appealing to both seasoned riders and newcomers alike.
