On March 31, 2025, a significant disturbance occurred at the train station in Celle when a 36-year-old man threw a firecracker into a waiting area, resulting in minor injuries to two women. The incident took place around 1 PM, drawing attention from both commuters and station staff.

A vigilant railway employee witnessed the act and attempted to apprehend the suspect. However, the man broke free, causing a minor injury to the employee's hand before fleeing the scene across the train tracks.

Law enforcement responded swiftly and apprehended the suspect shortly thereafter in the parking lot of a nearby supermarket. Upon arrest, it was discovered that he was under the influence of alcohol and in possession of additional firecrackers, categorized as Class F3 explosives. These types of fireworks are subject to strict regulations under the explosives law, and the individual could not provide any permits or licenses to justify his possession.

Authorities have initiated multiple criminal proceedings against the man, including charges of aggravated assault and violations of the explosives law. Following the necessary police procedures, he was released.

This incident raises concerns about public safety and the misuse of fireworks, particularly in populated areas. Local law enforcement continues to urge community members to report any suspicious activities to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
