Berlin Court Hears Case of Alleged Serial Rapist Targeting Vulnerable Women

Thu 2nd Oct, 2025

A 38-year-old man is facing trial in Berlin for the alleged rape of two women who were reportedly incapacitated at the time of the incidents. This trial follows his earlier conviction for a similar crime involving a young woman who was also unable to consent due to intoxication. The court proceedings are taking place at the Berlin Regional Court, where the accused, known as Marvin S., has opted to remain silent regarding the additional allegations against him.

In July, Marvin S. was sentenced to five and a half years in prison for raping a 20-year-old woman in April 2022. During that incident, he reportedly encouraged her to consume various drugs, exploiting her vulnerable state to engage in non-consensual sexual acts. The court found that he had also disrespected her by defacing her body and recording the acts on video. This conviction is currently under appeal.

In the ongoing trial, the prosecution has brought forth charges related to incidents that allegedly occurred between February 2020 and March 2021. The specifics of these charges remain undisclosed to the public, as they were presented under protective measures to safeguard the identities of the victims. Legal representatives for the plaintiffs have stated that further investigations are underway, sparked by evidence uncovered during the previous trial.

These new allegations came to light following a thorough examination of the defendant's mobile phone, which revealed incriminating video footage. The victims in these new cases have been identified, and the court has ensured that the proceedings will be conducted with due regard for their privacy.

Marvin S. has been in pre-trial detention since April 2023. The current trial is scheduled to continue for an additional ten days, with the next hearing set for November 26.

These cases highlight ongoing concerns regarding sexual violence and the exploitation of vulnerable individuals in society. The legal system's response and the outcomes of such trials are closely monitored by advocacy groups dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual assault and ensuring justice is served.
