Tue 30th Sep, 2025

Apple has rolled out a significant update for its latest operating systems, addressing various bugs and vulnerabilities. The updates include iOS 26.0.1, macOS 26.0.1, and other related software versions, available for download now.

This first wave of bug fixes aims to resolve early issues reported with the new operating systems. Specifically, iOS 26.0.1 and iPadOS 26.0.1 target problems related to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity affecting models such as the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and Air. Users experienced incompatibilities, particularly related to the new Apple N1 chip's power-saving mode. Furthermore, some photos taken under specific lighting conditions had black artifacts, which the update seeks to rectify.

Additionally, there were reports that certain iPhones were unable to connect to cellular networks following the upgrade to version 26. The update also addresses glitches in icon displays that remained blank after changing color settings, as well as issues with the VoiceOver accessibility feature, which posed significant challenges for visually impaired users. iPadOS 26.0.1 tackles the same VoiceOver issue and addresses a bug that caused the on-screen keyboard to move to unexpected locations.

The update for macOS, version 26.0.1, resolves an installation issue on Mac Studio M3 Ultra machines, along with other unspecified bug fixes. WatchOS 26.0.2, which follows the previous version that activated satellite functionalities for Apple Watch Ultra 3 in Mexico, also includes various fixes. Other systems, such as visionOS 26.0.1 and tvOS 26.0.1, likewise received updates aimed at improving functionality and stability.

In terms of security, the updates patch vulnerabilities that could potentially lead to app crashes and memory corruption. A critical bug related to the FontParser was present in iOS 26.0.1, iPadOS 26.0.1, and macOS 26.0, but has been resolved in the latest versions. However, it is noteworthy that watchOS 26.0.2 and tvOS 26.0.1 do not include these security enhancements, as Apple has indicated that they do not contain security improvements.

Moreover, the FontParser vulnerability is also addressed in earlier macOS versions, such as 14.8.1 (Sonoma) and 15.7.1 (Sequoia), as well as in iOS 18.7.1 and iPadOS 18.7.1.
