Tragic Collision on Austrian Highway Claims Four Lives

A devastating accident occurred early Tuesday morning on the A2 highway in Austria, resulting in the deaths of four individuals. The incident took place around 6:20 AM near Scheiblingkirchen, approximately 80 kilometers south of Vienna. A minibus collided with a truck while traveling towards Vienna, leading to a catastrophic outcome.

In addition to the fatalities, at least three passengers in the minibus sustained serious injuries, according to police reports. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, where numerous individuals were trapped inside the vehicle and required rescue. The situation remained critical, with medical teams working tirelessly to save lives.

The minibus reportedly crashed into the rear of the truck. Eyewitness accounts suggest that the truck may have been exiting a parking area when the collision occurred. The highway was completely closed to traffic in the direction of Vienna, leading to extensive delays during the morning commute. Authorities established a detour, but congestion spread to alternate routes, particularly the B54, causing further travel delays. The closure of the A2 continued until late morning while emergency crews cleared the scene.
