Toyota crashed into tram

Munich. On Monday evening the driver of a Toyota turned into the path of a tram and narrowly avoided serious injury. The fire brigade had to free her from the car. The 36-year-old woman attempted to turn from Westendstraße to Ludwigshafener Straße when the accident happened.

The collision destroyed the driver door and the driver was unable to open the door of her car to escape, says Muenchener Merkur. The rescue team opened the door with the help of a hydraulic spreader and freed the 36-year-old from the vehicle. The Toyota was totally destroyed in the collision. Damage to the tram was limited to the lights paintwork. As a consequence of the collision a long tailback formed at the Landsberger Strasse.
