Cologne - On February 27, 2025, two men from Morocco were arrested at the Cologne Central Station following a series of attempted thefts. Around 7:30 PM, plainclothes officers from the federal police noticed the 26-year-old and 30-year-old suspects actively searching for potential victims.

The duo initially targeted a woman, attempting to steal valuables from her jacket and handbag. Their efforts were thwarted, prompting them to pursue additional targets within and around the busy station; however, their subsequent attempts were unsuccessful.

Authorities apprehended the two men on a provisional basis and escorted them to the police station for further investigation. A check on their identities revealed that both individuals had recently been released from prison, where they had served several months for previous offenses. They are now facing new charges and will be required to appear in court once more.

The swift action taken by the police highlights the ongoing efforts to maintain safety in public spaces, particularly in transit hubs like the Cologne Central Station.
