A 19-year-old man was apprehended on Friday evening in Reilingen after allegedly stealing the rear license plate from a police vehicle. The incident occurred around 9 PM on the Hauptstraße, where witnesses reported seeing the theft take place.
Following the theft, the suspect fled the scene and attempted to hide in a nearby field. Local law enforcement was alerted immediately and initiated a search operation. Officers successfully located the individual concealed in a bush and proceeded to arrest him.
During the arrest, the young man resisted the officers' attempts to detain him, but the police were able to subdue him and prevent any further escape. A breathalyzer test revealed that he had a blood alcohol concentration of 1.1 percent, indicating significant intoxication.
In addition to the stolen license plate, officers discovered illegal drugs in the suspect's possession. He was subsequently transported to the nearest police station, where a blood sample was taken for further analysis.
After the necessary legal procedures were conducted, the 19-year-old was released. He now faces multiple charges, including theft, unlawful possession of narcotics, and resisting arrest. This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding youth behavior and substance abuse in the region.
