At the Mobile World Congress (MWC), Samsung has officially launched its latest additions to the Galaxy A series, introducing the Galaxy A26, A36, and A56 models. These smartphones are designed to cater to the mid-range market, featuring a consistent design while incorporating upgraded hardware.

The flagship model, the Galaxy A56, is priced starting at EUR479 for the 8/128 GB variant, and EUR529 for the 8/256 GB version, maintaining the same price points as its predecessor. The A56 boasts a larger 6.7-inch OLED display, which has a slimmer bezel compared to previous models, resulting in a brighter screen capable of reaching 1200 cd/m², an increase of 200 cd/m² from earlier versions. This model is powered by the Exynos 1580 processor, providing enhanced performance. Notably, Samsung has removed the microSD card slot, opting instead for a fixed storage capacity. The battery charging speed has also been upgraded to 45 watts, a significant improvement over the typical 25 watts offered by previous models. The Galaxy A56 is built to last, with commitments for six years of security updates and six Android version updates, a notable increase from the previous five years for security patches and four Android updates.

The camera setup on the Galaxy A56 includes a triple rear camera system with a 50 MP main sensor, a 12 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5 MP macro lens. The front camera resolution has been reduced from 32 MP to 12 MP. The device will ship with Android 15 and features an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance.

The Galaxy A36 is the mid-tier option, available for EUR379 for the 6/128 GB version and EUR449 for the 8/256 GB model. Unlike the A56, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor. The display size matches that of the A56 at 6.7 inches, also featuring a brightness capacity of 1200 cd/m². Similar to the A56, the update period has been extended, but the A36 also lacks the microSD expansion option. The 5000 mAh battery supports 45-watt charging, provided a compatible charger is used.

While the Galaxy A36 shares the main camera configuration with the A56, its ultra-wide camera features an 8 MP sensor. The overall design of both the A36 and A56 has been slightly modified to be thinner and lighter, enhancing portability.

Lastly, the entry-level Galaxy A26 is priced at EUR299 for the 6/128 GB model and EUR369 for the 8/256 GB variant. It is powered by the Exynos 1380 chipset, which previously featured in higher-end models. The A26 also sports a 6.7-inch OLED display, with expandable storage options via a microSD card up to 2 TB, distinguishing it from the more expensive models. The device comes equipped with a 5000 mAh battery, but charging is limited to 25 watts. Its camera setup mirrors that of the A56, including a 50 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2 MP macro camera. Like the other models, the A26 guarantees six years of updates and Android version upgrades.

All three smartphones are now available for purchase, with promotional offers allowing customers to acquire the larger storage versions of the A56 and A36 at the price of the smaller ones.
