In a concerning incident in the Bochum area, two women fell victim to separate robbery attempts within a short time frame while walking in the Laerholz forest. Authorities have arrested a 21-year-old suspect in connection with these crimes.

The first incident occurred on April 10 around noon when a 29-year-old woman was taking a stroll and talking on her phone. Suddenly, a man approached her and attempted to snatch her device, demanding cash before fleeing the scene. The woman was left with minor injuries but managed to contact law enforcement for assistance.

Just ten minutes later, at approximately 12:25 PM, a 53-year-old woman was targeted in the same area, where her handbag and laptop were stolen. The police, who were already alerted about the earlier incident, responded quickly upon hearing the woman's cries for help. Fortunately, she was unharmed during the encounter.

Law enforcement pursued the alleged perpetrator, a local resident, who attempted to evade capture but was apprehended shortly thereafter. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities believe this individual may be responsible for both robbery incidents.

The Bochum police urge the public to remain vigilant while in secluded areas and report any suspicious activities promptly. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of personal safety and awareness, especially during solitary outings.
