Ring of Honor for Thomas Mueller?

Weilheim/Paehl. Should the rural district Weilheim-Schongau award the Paehl born Thomas Mueller with the 'ring of honor' for his outstanding performance at the World Cup?

The opinions of the district committee: chief administrator Dr. Friedrich Zeller indicated that such a proposal would not be discussed publicly, but only internally between the spokesmen of the county council.

The results of the meeting concluded that the ring of honor award is not suitable for Müller. Friedrich Zeller stated that Müllers accomplishments have been substantial, but "A ring of honor should recognise the life's work of a person, whereas Thomas Müller is only 20 years old." Zeller's personal opinion is that a different award for the Bayern Munich professional footballer would be more suitable.

We will think of an appropriate gesture for Thomas Müller. "We are after all very, very proud of him", says Zeller.
