Record Donations from Moosburg's Social Association Benefit Local Community
The Tante-Emma-Laden in Moosburg has achieved a remarkable milestone this year, distributing a record amount of over EUR40,000 to various local organizations and initiatives. This significant sum is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the volunteers involved in the social enterprise.
During a recent press conference held at the 'Grieserie', the chairman of the Tante-Emma Association expressed his delight at the exceeding expectations surrounding this year's fundraising efforts. The funds, generated from the sales of donated items and additional contributions, will support a variety of community projects.
Comparatively, last year saw a total of approximately EUR26,000 distributed, highlighting the substantial growth in financial support this year. The increase has been attributed to exceptional sales from the social store and heightened donations following recent flooding events. The association's commitment to enhancing community welfare is evident in its annual financial contributions.
Despite the success, the association faces challenges, particularly concerning volunteer engagement. While there are currently 45 active volunteers, it has been noted that a small percentage of them are responsible for a large portion of the work. The association is seeking additional support from community members who are willing to commit time regularly to assist in operations.
In addition to the retail activities, the Tante-Emma association engages in various charitable efforts, including distributing supplies to Ukraine and providing clothing for hospital patients without family support. The organization has steadily increased its financial assistance over the years, with past distributions reaching approximately EUR17,500 in 2019 and around EUR15,000 even during the challenges posed by the pandemic.
The recent funding round benefited 22 applicants, including organizations such as Hohenkammer/Allershausen, which received EUR10,000 for flood relief efforts, and the Kinderschutzbund, which was awarded EUR5,000 to support midday care programs. Other beneficiaries included the Phoenix e.V. for children's programs, the Georg Hummel-Mittelschule for preventive theater initiatives, and the WeiÃer Ring for victim support services.
The Tante-Emma-Laden serves as a crucial resource within the community, providing not only affordable goods but also a supportive environment for residents. The social store is located at BahnhofstraÃe 6 in Moosburg and operates on specific hours for donations and sales. Community members are encouraged to visit and contribute to the ongoing efforts of the association.
