Radio Host Victim of Violent Home Invasion Amid Fraud Scheme

A recent incident in Berlin has left a popular radio host shaken after a violent robbery at her home. Jenny Wendelberger, known for her afternoon show on Schlager Radio, was targeted by a fraudster under the pretense of purchasing a smartphone listed on an online marketplace.

The 42-year-old influencer had advertised an iPhone 16 Pro Max for EUR1,100, attracting multiple inquiries. After negotiating with various interested buyers, she settled on a meeting with an individual who seemed genuine. However, the situation quickly escalated into a frightening encounter.

Upon his arrival at her residence in Prenzlauer Berg, Wendelberger described how her initial comfort turned to terror. She opened the door to show the unblemished phone, only for the man's demeanor to shift dramatically. In an unexpected act of aggression, he violently kicked her in the leg, causing her severe pain.

Despite her injury, Wendelberger instinctively pursued the assailant as he fled down the stairs, discarding the phone's packaging and charging cable during his escape. Unfortunately, he managed to evade capture as he blended into the crowd outside.

Following the incident, Wendelberger barricaded herself in her apartment and contacted emergency services. Law enforcement responded swiftly, with officers from both local and criminal police arriving to gather evidence, including potential fingerprint samples from the discarded items.

Witnesses described the assailant as a small-statured man, approximately 165 cm tall, with short, dark blonde hair. He was reportedly wearing a black North Face jacket and spoke broken German with an Eastern European accent.

Wendelberger expressed her disbelief at the violation of her trust, emphasizing the physical pain she continues to endure following the attack. She urged others to exercise caution when conducting transactions and to consider meeting in safer, neutral locations with a companion for added security.
