Reitzenhain - In a significant operation, the Federal Police Inspection Chemnitz executed several arrest warrants at the Reitzenhain border crossing in recent days. The majority of individuals apprehended were able to pay their outstanding fines and continue their travels without further incident.

Among those detained was a 50-year-old man from Ukraine who settled a fine of EUR620 imposed by the Marienberg District Court, allowing him to proceed on his journey. Similarly, a 44-year-old Romanian paid an outstanding fine of EUR1,588, which had been issued by the Offenburg Public Prosecutor's Office for fraud-related offenses.

A 54-year-old Hungarian man also cleared a EUR180 fine, resulting in the cancellation of his listing by the Chemnitz Public Prosecutor's Office.

In a more complex case, the police conducted a routine check on a 38-year-old Romanian. This individual was found to have two active arrest warrants. While he was able to pay a fine of EUR540 for theft, he could not continue his travels due to an existing investigation warrant from the Ansbach Public Prosecutor's Office regarding a burglary. As a result, he was taken into custody and brought before the Chemnitz District Court.

This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to enforce legal obligations and maintain order at border crossings. The Federal Police continue to monitor and address outstanding warrants and fines to enhance public safety and compliance with the law.
