Murder Trial Begins for Man Accused of Slaying Partner and Daughters

In a chilling case from Berlin-Marzahn, a 37-year-old man is set to stand trial for the alleged murders of his partner and their two young daughters. The proceedings are scheduled to commence on March 13 at the Berlin Regional Court, with a total of nine hearings expected to take place until April 10.

The accused is charged with the brutal killings of his 31-year-old partner and their daughters, aged five and six, utilizing both a knife and a crossbow. According to investigators, the details surrounding the motive for these horrific acts remain unclear, which has raised significant public interest as the trial approaches.

Following the incident, the suspect fled Berlin but was apprehended on November 5, 2024, in Heidelberg. He was subsequently transferred to Berlin, where he has been held in pre-trial detention ever since.
