Massive Drone Assault: Largest Russian Attack Since War Started

In a significant escalation of hostilities, Ukraine experienced its largest drone assault since the onset of the conflict, with Russia launching a staggering total of 479 combat drones, primarily of the Shahed model, alongside decoy drones. Additionally, the attack included four Kinschal hypersonic missiles, 14 different cruise missiles, and two air-to-ground Ch-31 missiles, as reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.

The aerial assault triggered air raid alerts across nearly all regions of Ukraine during the night. Reports from Olexander Kowal, the military governor of the Rivne region in western Ukraine, confirmed that a civilian was injured due to the attacks. In the frontline region of Zaporizhzhia, three individuals sustained injuries, with air raid sirens sounding well into the morning hours. The Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions also reported strikes, particularly with guided glide bombs targeting key infrastructures.

In response to the intense Russian aerial campaign, Poland has heightened its military readiness. The country's armed forces activated fighter jets early Monday morning to monitor the situation and prepared ground-based air defense and radar systems. These measures were described as precautionary, aimed at ensuring security in the immediate border area.

Simultaneously, Ukrainian forces launched their own drone strikes, targeting an electronics factory in the Russian republic of Chuvashia. This facility was reportedly involved in the production of antennas for Russian military equipment. Oleg Nikolayev, the governor of the region located approximately 650 kilometers from Moscow, confirmed via Telegram that two drones struck the WNIIR facility in the city of Cheboksary.

Videos circulating on various social media platforms depicted the moments of the attack, showing explosions and significant smoke billowing from the site, underscoring the ongoing conflict's impact on both sides.
