Nuremberg - A serious incident occurred on April 1 at the Nuremberg Central Station, where a 26-year-old man from Georgia allegedly sexually assaulted a 28-year-old woman. The incident took place around 12:25 PM as the woman was using an escalator. The suspect reportedly inappropriately touched her under her clothing, prompting her to confront him vocally and demand he stop his actions.

After the confrontation, the woman sought assistance in the central hall of the station. However, the suspect approached her again, downplaying the severity of his previous actions by claiming he mistook her for his girlfriend. Following this, he left the vicinity towards the main hall.

Feeling distressed, the victim contacted the federal police, who quickly initiated a search for the suspect. Approximately two hours later, police officers on patrol recognized him within the station and took him into custody. Upon searching him, authorities discovered multiple suspected counterfeit banknotes in his possession.

Video surveillance footage revealed that the man had been tracking the woman prior to the incident. The federal police are currently conducting an investigation into the allegations of sexual harassment. Furthermore, the counterfeit currency found is subject to additional inquiries. After the police proceedings were completed, the suspect was released.

This incident highlights the ongoing concerns regarding safety in public spaces and the importance of prompt reporting to authorities in such situations.
