Leadership Change at Lucasfilm: Kathleen Kennedy Steps Down as President

After more than a decade at the helm of Lucasfilm, the studio responsible for the iconic Star Wars franchise, Kathleen Kennedy is stepping down from her position as president. The company announced that Kennedy, who was originally appointed by Star Wars creator George Lucas, will transition into a new role as a producer, where she will continue to contribute to upcoming projects, including the anticipated films The Mandalorian and Grogu and Star Wars: Starfighter, the latter set to feature Ryan Gosling.

Two seasoned executives from within the organization will assume Kennedy's responsibilities. Lynwen Brennan will serve alongside him as co-president, managing other executive functions.
