Vanessa Mai, a prominent German singer, had her car broken into during a tour stop in Berlin. Thieves targeted her vehicle, taking several personal items, an incident Mai described as traumatic on her podcast, "Schön laut." The car was reportedly broken into overnight as Mai participated in her ongoing "Traumfabrik" tour.

Among the items stolen were credit cards, passports, jackets, and bags. Mai expressed her distress particularly over the loss of personal photographs and lucky charms stored in her wallet. The singer recounted the experience during her podcast, noting, "It feels so disgusting that people have touched and rummaged through my stuff."

Mai admitted she typically does not leave valuables in her car but made an exception that night due to tiredness and a desire to save time the next morning. "Now I just think, how stupid, stupid, stupid it was to leave those things in there," she added, reflecting on the incident.

Despite the theft, some crucial items remained safe. Her husband, Andreas Ferber, was crucial in managing the aftermath. He retrieved a significant laptop from the vehicle during the night, averting further loss. Mai commented that without her husband's support, she would feel helpless, as he is handling the replacement of their passports and cards.

Interestingly, the only items left untouched in the vehicle were Mai's stage outfits, which she expressed relief about, saying they were thankfully not stolen.

Vanessa Mai, hailing from Baden-Württemberg, is well-known within the German music scene, particularly in the schlager genre. However, she has sought to pivot towards mainstream pop since the release of her 2021 album "Mai Tai." Despite this objective, Mai remains a favorite in the schlager community.
