Munich. Multiple lightning strikes caused delays for the S-Bahn on wednesday evening. Delays are expected to continue today, throughout the afternoon.
"Because of several lightning strikes at the Stellwerk Munich Ostbahnhof, there will be delays in the whole S-Bahn network", announced the S-Bahn fault sensor just before 9 o'clock.
There was a multitude of problems: the S1 line Freising/Airport was driving regularly to the Ostbahnhof, but with delays. The same for the S7 Wolfratshausen/Kreuzstraße. The S6 in direction Tutzing started and ended at Munichs central station without a stop at Hackerbrücke. The line S27 was completely out of service.
At 9.20 AM the S-Bahn announced: "The disruption that was caused by lightning strikes at the Stellwerk Ostbahnhof, are now fixed and all S-Bahn are back to normal service. But please allow time for delays."
