Kassel - On Tuesday evening, local authorities were alerted by a concerned citizen who witnessed what appeared to be a violent confrontation. The incident occurred on Mauerstraße, where a young man was reportedly assaulted and forcibly pulled into a Mercedes Vito while shouting for help.
In response to the alarming situation, the police quickly initiated a search for the vehicle. Shortly thereafter, a patrol unit from the canine service spotted the suspect van on Hoffmann-von-Fallersleben-Straße and conducted a traffic stop.
Upon investigation, it became evident that the whole scenario was a prank gone awry. The individuals involved had staged the scene as a mock kidnapping involving their friend. However, one of the participants, a 24-year-old man driving the vehicle, faced serious legal repercussions.
A background check revealed that the driver was wanted under a warrant for driving without a valid license. As he was caught operating the vehicle without the necessary documentation again, police initiated additional legal proceedings against him. The man, who does not have a permanent residence, was subsequently taken to the Wehlheiden correctional facility to serve his sentence.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
