Hyundai Ioniq 6 Facelift: Streamlined Rear Design Revealed

Thu 3rd Apr, 2025

Hyundai has unveiled the facelifted version of its electric vehicle, the Ioniq 6, at the Seoul Mobility Show 2025. This updated model introduces a sportier variant known as the Ioniq 6 N Line, while the core enhancements are primarily cosmetic, focusing on the vehicle's exterior to improve aerodynamics and appeal.

The most notable changes involve an elevated hood and an extended body design, although Hyundai has not specified the exact differences compared to the previous model. The rear spoiler has been redesigned to feature a softer and more elegant silhouette, yet it retains the same aerodynamic performance as before. Previous critiques have noted the Ioniq 6's distinctive design, which some find provocative.

In terms of performance, while the powertrain and chassis remain unchanged, improvements in battery capacity and maximum charging capabilities are anticipated, following trends seen in other models such as the Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.

Hyundai's modifications also extend to the interior, where a new steering wheel and an updated center console aim to enhance user comfort and functionality. A larger display for climate controls is part of this effort to boost usability.

The sporty Ioniq 6 N Line promises a more dynamic aesthetic, with alterations to the front, rear, and side skirts designed to give it a lower appearance. A new rear wing has been introduced, although it remains unclear if this styling will be available in the European market. The N Line variant is set to be officially presented in July.

Hyundai has yet to provide specific details regarding the pricing or consumption figures for the facelifted Ioniq 6, as well as for the N Line variant. However, it is expected that the company will maintain its competitive warranty offerings, which include a five-year unlimited mileage warranty and an eight-year guarantee on the traction battery. Currently, the Ioniq 6 is priced at EUR43,900 for the 53 kWh battery with rear-wheel drive and EUR52,900 for the all-wheel-drive version with a 77.4 kWh battery.
