Duisburg - Law enforcement officials have successfully apprehended a 37-year-old man following a break-in at a discount store located on Brückenstraße. Upon his capture, the suspect was found in possession of several bags filled with liquor bottles, which are believed to be stolen goods.

During the identification process, authorities discovered an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Duisburg public prosecutor's office against the suspect for previous burglary offenses. The police executed the warrant and took him into custody.

It appears the suspect was not acting alone. Authorities report that an accomplice managed to escape on a mountain bike towards Wanheimer Straße after receiving a portion of the stolen items over a steel fence. In addition to the liquor, police recovered multiple bags containing a total of 14 bottles of spirits, as well as a sports bag filled with a balaclava, burglary tools, a flashlight, and several mobile phones. All recovered items have been secured by the police.

The fleeing accomplice is described as approximately 25 years old, slender, standing between 1.70 and 1.80 meters tall, with black hair and a full beard, and was last seen wearing a gray padded jacket and dark pants.

The criminal investigation department is actively pursuing leads and requests that anyone who may have observed suspicious activity in the vicinity of Brückenstraße and Wanheimer Straße, or who has information regarding the wanted individual, contact the criminal investigation unit at 0203 2800.
