Bangkok - A German family's vacation in Thailand turned into a nightmare when they were involved in a serious traffic accident while crossing a busy street in Khao Lak. The incident occurred around 5 PM local time, as the couple, accompanied by their two-year-old son, attempted to use a pedestrian crossing near the beach. The father, aged 34, was pulling a small suitcase, while the 32-year-old mother was pushing a stroller.

As the family approached the crosswalk, a vehicle, identified as a modified SUV taxi, approached at high speed from the left. The driver, a 60-year-old man, appeared to disregard the pedestrian right-of-way, crashing into the family without any signs of braking.

Dashcam footage captured the moment of impact, showing the parents being struck head-on by the vehicle, yet miraculously, both adults survived the collision. Initial reports from Thai media suggested that their injuries were life-threatening; however, the family later contacted reporters to clarify that while they sustained injuries to their legs, they were not in danger of losing their lives.

Fortunately, the stroller, which contained their son, was unharmed during the accident. The child was able to roll across the crosswalk as the collision occurred, escaping any physical injury.

Witnesses rushed to assist the injured couple immediately after the accident, and they were subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment. The site of the incident is located near Bang Niang Beach, a popular destination known for its shallow waters, particularly favored by families.

The taxi driver was apprehended at the scene and is facing charges for reckless driving resulting in injury. Local authorities have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
