The exhibition ship MS Wissenschaft is set to embark on a nationwide tour, stopping at approximately 30 locations across Germany over the coming months. This year's focus will be on the critical theme of the energy transition.

During the launch event in Berlin, Federal Minister for Research Dorothee Bär emphasized the importance of promoting scientific knowledge among the public. She expressed the hope that visitors would leave the ship with increased understanding and awareness of scientific topics.

The ship will commence its journey from the Schiffbauerdamm in Berlin between May 14 and 18, making its way to Potsdam as the next destination. The final stop will be in Straubing, Bavaria, in September. The exhibition is organized by the initiative Wissenschaft im Dialog, under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Research.

Visitors will have the opportunity to engage in daily guided tours at no cost. The exhibition aims to ignite curiosity, particularly among students, who represent the next generation of scientists. The initiative showcases a range of interactive and engaging exhibits, including a challenge to discover how much electricity the internet consumes and an experience that allows participants to feel the heat from the Earth's interior.

The exhibition features 30 exhibits derived from various research projects across Germany and is recommended for individuals aged twelve and older. Free guided tours will be available every day, aiming to educate and inspire a diverse audience.

Bär, referring to her role as Minister, noted the significance of demonstrating the potential contributions of scientific research. She asserted that her ministry, the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space, stands out as one of the most innovative and exciting governmental departments.
