Fatal Accident on A81: Driver Flees the Scene

On Tuesday morning, a serious accident occurred on the A81 highway, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries. The incident took place near Zimmern ob Rottweil, where a 24-year-old woman driving a Seat was traveling in the left lane towards Stuttgart.

According to reports, a blue tarpaulin-covered truck abruptly swerved into her lane. Despite the driver's attempts to brake and evade, a collision was unavoidable. The impact sent the Seat crashing into the central guardrail.

A 63-year-old driver of an Alfa Romeo, who was following closely behind, also attempted to avoid the collision. He swerved to the left but ended up grazing the guardrail before moving back to the right lane. Unfortunately, he collided with a VW transporter that was traveling in that lane.

The 27-year-old driver of the VW transporter and his 25-year-old passenger sustained severe injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Fortunately, both have since been discharged from the medical facility.

Tragically, the 63-year-old Alfa Romeo driver suffered critical injuries, resulting in his death at the scene of the accident. The driver of the truck involved in the incident did not stop and continued driving towards Stuttgart.

The traffic police in Zimmern have launched an investigation into the matter and are actively seeking witnesses who may have information regarding the unknown truck driver. Witnesses are encouraged to provide any relevant information by contacting the police at the designated phone number.
