Renowned director Edward Berger is set to collaborate with Hollywood icon Brad Pitt on an exciting new film project. Following the success of his Oscar-winning film All Quiet on the Western Front and the recent triumph of his drama Konklave, which secured the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay, Berger has now turned his attention to the adaptation of Tim Winton's acclaimed novel, The Riders.

Production company A24 has acquired the rights to this highly anticipated drama, with Berger confirmed as the director and Pitt taking on the leading role. The announcement has generated significant buzz across the entertainment industry, with multiple sources confirming the collaboration.

The Riders, originally published in 1996, tells the poignant story of a man who relocates his family from Australia to Ireland after an extended journey through Europe. The narrative unfolds as the husband arrives at the airport to find his wife missing, leading him and his child on a quest to uncover her whereabouts.

According to reports from Variety, filming for The Riders is expected to commence in early 2026 at various locations across Europe. The screenplay has been penned by David Kajganich, known for his work on films such as Invasion, Suspiria, and Bones and All.

Pitt, who is set to appear later this year in the film F1 as a Formula 1 driver, is generating excitement with his upcoming roles. Meanwhile, Berger continues to make waves in the industry, having recently worked with stars Colin Farrell and Tilda Swinton on the Netflix project The Ballad of a Small Player, which has yet to be released.

Berger's latest film, Konklave, has gained additional relevance in light of recent events surrounding the death of Pope Francis, with the plot revolving around the election of a new pope based on the bestselling novel by Robert Harris.

As this new collaboration unfolds, both Berger and Pitt are expected to bring their unique talents to the screen, creating a work that resonates with audiences worldwide.
