22-Year-Old Man Causes Disturbance on Train in Chemnitz

In Chemnitz, a 22-year-old individual was found with injuries to his hands after reportedly breaking a train window. The incident occurred on April 28, 2025, when the conductor of a City-Bahn train traveling from Burgstädt alerted the Federal Police about the situation at approximately 8:45 PM.

Upon arrival, officers from the Chemnitz Federal Police Inspection discovered the man inside the train, exhibiting signs of significant intoxication. A breathalyzer test indicated that his blood alcohol level was over 1.8 per mille, a level considered dangerously high.

Despite sustaining injuries from the broken glass, the young man declined medical assistance from the authorities present at the scene. The police administered first aid to address his injuries before proceeding with the necessary legal actions. He is now under investigation for property damage due to the vandalism of the train window.

Following the completion of the police procedures, the individual was released. The incident has raised concerns about public safety and the impact of alcohol consumption in public transport settings.
