Violent Incident at Dortmund Vocational Center: 16-Year-Old Stabs Classmate
Dortmund - A serious altercation between two aspiring craftsmen has resulted in a stabbing incident at a vocational training center in Dortmund. A 16-year-old student is accused of attacking a peer of the same age, leading to critical injuries.
The victim suffered a stab wound to the abdomen and was promptly transported to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery to save his life. Medical personnel, including paramedics and an emergency doctor, provided immediate assistance at the scene before his transfer to the hospital, where a surgical team was able to stabilize his condition.
The violent confrontation reportedly took place at the former Hansemann coal mine site, which now serves as a training facility operated by the Dortmund Chamber of Crafts. This center is utilized for various trade courses, including scaffolding, and offers accommodations for students during their training periods.
In the wake of the attack, law enforcement authorities apprehended the alleged perpetrator on Saturday evening. The police, along with the public prosecutor's office, are treating this incident as an attempted homicide. A specialized homicide investigation unit has been established to look into the matter thoroughly.
Investigators began interviewing witnesses shortly after the incident, while forensic experts spent several hours collecting evidence at the crime scene. The training center, which serves as a hub for aspiring tradespeople, has now become the focus of an ongoing investigation.
The accused, who is also a minor, is expected to be presented before a judge on Monday for a preliminary hearing regarding possible detention following the serious nature of the allegations.
