Issues with E-Prescriptions at CGM Lauer Resolved

Tue 15th Apr, 2025

CGM Lauer has recently experienced disruptions affecting the processing of e-prescriptions. Customers were informed that, during this period, they should resort to traditional paper prescriptions.

A spokesperson for the company stated that they are actively working to resolve the issue, which has been identified as preventing the reading of e-prescriptions within their WINAPO® system. To address this, CGM Lauer communicated that a software update would be implemented within a few hours to restore full functionality for e-prescription processing.

By midday, the company announced that the necessary software update had been successfully integrated, eliminating the problem. Users were assured that no system restart was required and that the e-prescription functionality was fully operational again. CGM Lauer expressed appreciation for the understanding of their clients during this inconvenience.

Initially, there were speculations that the disruption might be linked to a compatibility issue with Gematik, the digital healthcare provider. However, Gematik's service team reported no issues on their end, and other software systems remained unaffected.

In the interim, pharmacies adapted by reverting to the use of paper prescriptions. Although this solution is straightforward, it highlights a vulnerability in the current digital prescription infrastructure. As the volume of digital prescriptions increases, there are concerns that processing centers may soon struggle to manage the necessary workflow for paper prescriptions effectively.

This incident sheds light on the ongoing transition to digital healthcare solutions and the importance of robust systems to handle increasing demands. The reliance on e-prescriptions is expected to grow, underscoring the need for reliable technology and infrastructure to support it.
