In the early hours of Sunday, a violent incident occurred at a public event in Maikammer, resulting in injuries to two individuals. The first attack took place around 2:50 AM near the Catholic church, where an 18-year-old man was struck in the face, sustaining an injury beneath his eye. The young man, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, was subsequently transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
Shortly after this incident, a second assault was reported nearby, involving a 26-year-old man who was punched in the face and kicked in the thigh. Although he experienced pain from the attack, he declined to seek medical assistance.
Initial investigations by local law enforcement suggest that the same perpetrators may be responsible for both assaults. Witness descriptions indicate that the suspects are believed to be between 16 and 18 years old and approximately 180 cm tall. One of the attackers was noted to be wearing a red and black jacket. Following the incidents, both suspects fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
The Edenkoben police have launched an investigation into the assaults and are appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information. Anyone who may have seen the events or has knowledge regarding the identities of the assailants is urged to contact the police at 06323-9550 or via email at piedenkoben@polizei.rlp.de.
