Brutal Assault on Police Officers in Frankfurt

In a concerning incident that occurred late on April 4, 2025, in the B-level of Frankfurt's Hauptwache, multiple individuals were involved in a violent confrontation. The police quickly responded to the scene, where they encountered a 17-year-old suspect allegedly armed with a stick or a baton.

As officers attempted to place the suspect in handcuffs, a 20-year-old assailant attacked one of the officers with a glass bottle, causing facial injuries. Seizing this moment, the 17-year-old struck the female officer on the upper arm, broke free from their grasp, and fled the scene.

A physical struggle ensued between the police and the 20-year-old, during which officers deployed pepper spray to subdue him. With the assistance of backup units, the 17-year-old was eventually apprehended as well.

Upon police arrival, the injured party from the initial assault was located; however, neither a stick nor a telescopic baton was recovered. Following the completion of police procedures, both suspects were released. The 17-year-old was returned to his mother. Authorities have initiated criminal proceedings against both individuals for aggravated bodily harm and resisting law enforcement officers.
