Arson Attack on Police Vehicles in Bremen: Four Cars Set Ablaze

In Bremen, an alarming incident occurred in the early hours of a Monday morning when four police civilian vehicles were set on fire near the Daniel-von-Büren-Straße police station. The fire, reported around 1:50 AM, resulted in the complete destruction of two cars, a Skoda station wagon and a VW Golf. Upon arrival, emergency services discovered two police vehicles engulfed in flames, while a third vehicle had a burning tire that was extinguished in the nick of time.

A fourth vehicle sustained damage due to the heat emanating from the fire. Thankfully, no injuries were reported; however, the incident caused significant property damage, prompting the Bremen police to launch an investigation into the act of arson.

Following the attack, the police initiated an extensive search operation in the Findorff district, resulting in the detention of nine individuals aged between 15 and 27. Among those apprehended were at least one Afghan national, two Germans, and several individuals with dual citizenships. As of Monday morning, all suspects remained in custody while the police continue to explore potential links to the attack.

Authorities are also investigating whether there is a political motive behind this act. In a related context, similar incidents of arson have been reported recently, including attacks on vehicles associated with political figures, raising concerns about rising tensions in the region.
