Man Arrested After Axe Threat During Traffic Dispute in Frankenthal

In a disturbing incident in Frankenthal, a 21-year-old man was arrested following a violent confrontation that occurred after a near-miss accident. The altercation took place on the evening of March 28, 2025, on Wormser Straße, where two drivers engaged in a heated dispute over a right-of-way violation.

The situation escalated when the 29-year-old driver, who had almost collided with the younger driver at a traffic intersection, found himself being pursued. The younger man, visibly agitated, followed the 29-year-old until they reached a red traffic light.

At this point, the 21-year-old exited his vehicle and approached the other driver's car. In a shocking turn of events, he brandished an axe, threatening the 29-year-old while also hurling insults at him. After the confrontation, the assailant fled the scene.

Law enforcement was notified and initiated a search operation. The police successfully located the suspect shortly thereafter. Upon his apprehension, officers discovered both an axe and a machete in his possession. The 21-year-old now faces multiple charges, including threats, coercion in traffic situations, and verbal abuse.
