In a recent incident on the S-Bahn line between Hamburg-Harburg and Hamburg-Neugraben, a dispute escalated into violence when a 20-year-old man refused to extinguish his electronic cigarette. The altercation began when a 36-year-old passenger asked the younger individual to stop smoking in the confined space of the train. In response to this request, the 20-year-old struck the older man in the face.

The confrontation caught the attention of security personnel from Deutsche Bahn at the Neugraben station. They quickly intervened to separate the two men and contacted the federal police to report the incident for further investigation.

The victim, a 36-year-old man, sustained cuts to both his upper and lower lips but declined medical assistance by refusing an ambulance. Meanwhile, the 20-year-old aggressor was taken into custody by the police.

Upon testing, it was determined that the young man had a blood alcohol concentration of 1.79?. A medical officer assessed his condition and confirmed that he was fit to remain in police custody. Consequently, a criminal investigation was initiated against him for bodily injury.

The federal police in Hamburg are currently handling the ongoing investigation into the matter, which has raised concerns about safety and behavior on public transport in the region.
