Serious Accident on A21: Four Injured in Collision

A significant traffic incident occurred on the A21 motorway towards Hamburg on Monday, resulting in multiple serious injuries.

At approximately 14:34, just before the Daldorf interchange, a traffic jam developed. The last vehicle in this queue, a Volkswagen Golf, was positioned in the left lane. Suddenly, a blue BMW, carrying four occupants, approached from behind and collided with the Golf.

The crash resulted in severe injuries for the 23-year-old female driver of the Golf, the 19-year-old male driver of the BMW, and two of the BMW's passengers, who were also trapped in the wreckage. A third passenger in the BMW sustained only minor injuries.

Emergency services, including firefighters from Trappenkamp and Bornhöved, along with ambulances from Bad Segeberg, Rickling, and Bornhöved, were dispatched to the scene. A rescue helicopter was also utilized to transport the BMW driver to a nearby hospital, while the other injured individuals were taken by ambulance.

The A21 remained fully closed for several hours as the scene was cleared and investigated by the relevant authorities.
